Join us for the last Whittier Reads event, a guided tour of the Chinese American Museum! It embodies a cultural and physical link to the past, as well as a promising point of entry for the city's multicultural future. Opened in December of 2003, it is a museum located in Downtown Los Angeles as a part of the El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Monument. Saturday, April 30th 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. $15.00 tickets are for sale at both libraries. Please click here for more information.

Join us for the first program in our new series All That Jazz!
If you ever wanted to know about Jazz and didn't know where to start, here is your opportunity to find out! An Introduction to Jazz will be presented by Shane Cadman-Composer/Performer/Impresario and Theatre Manager, Ruth B. Shannon Performing Center for the Arts.
Central Library Thursday, May 5th @ 6:30 p.m.

News ImageTake a look at a new collection of photographs in the library's local history collection: Post-War Whittier.
This collection currently consists of 36 photos lent to the Library by patron Robert Major, and depicts Quonset huts (temporary housing for World War II Veterans), Whittier's famous snow day (January 11, 1949), Palm Park, and more. The photos range from 1946 to 1958. Click here to see the collection.
