WHITTIER POLICE ARREST TWO STREET RACERS INVOLVED IN FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION

Posted On: November 17, 2017

Last December the Whittier Police Department Traffic Bureau responded to the 7700 block of Colima Rd. in response to a fatal traffic collision. 31-year old Natalie Volkoff died in the collision after two suspected street racers lost control, sending one of the vehicles crashing into her car. Both drivers were arrested that night but were later released pending further investigation.

After an intensive investigation, traffic investigators concluded the suspects were “street racing” at the time of the collision and filed murder charges against both suspects with the Bellflower District Attorney’s Office. As a result, warrants were issued for their arrest.

Last night, Whittier Police arrested 23-year-old Jacob Zamora of Anaheim and 23-year old Cory Kiefer of Unincorporated Whittier. Both Zamora and Kiefer were booked into the Whittier City Jail and their bails have been set at one million dollars each. They are expected to be arraigned today at Bellflower Superior Court.
