"Whittier Idol" Competition Saturday May 5

Who will be the next Whittier Idol?

Thirteen talented vocal finalists, who were chosen at auditions held March 17, will vie for the 2012 title at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5 at the Whittier Center Theatre, 7630 Washington Avenue.

This annual event is sponsored by the Whittier Cultural Arts Foundation. The Foundation, which operates under the aegis of the Whittier Cultural Arts Commission, raises funds and makes recommendations for annual grants to encourage and support the arts in Whittier, including community arts programs and art outreach and programs at local schools.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Community Center, 7630 Washington Avenue at a discounted price of $20, adults; $10, students; and $5 for ages 8 years and younger. Tickets purchased at the door on May 5 will be $25, adults; $20 students and $8 for ages 8 years and younger.
