Metro Eastside Light Rail Public Hearing Dates
August 19, 2014  The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) announced the release of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report (EIS/EIR). As of August 22, the document is now available for public review and comment.

Temporary Water Restrictions Due To Drought Conditions
August 28, 2014  Temporary water restrictions are now in place throughout Whittier as a result of Governor Brown declaring a drought state of emergency and the California State Water Resources Control Board adopting emergency regulations for statewide water conservation.

Living with Coyotes
January 31, 2014  Coyotes have long been a common sight in some parts of Whittier and in many other communities in Southern California. Coyotes are seen more often in urban neighborhoods when water and food sources in the hills become scarce, as is the case now that we are in a drought condition.
