Three Grand Theft Auto Suspects Arrested

On April 30, 2012 at approximately 12:58pm, Whittier Officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Honda sedan for a license plate violation.  The traffic stop took place in the 10900 Block of Shoemaker Avenue in the City of Santa Fe Springs.  The driver and the front passenger immediately fled from the vehicle and ran into the parking lot of a nearby business.  The rear passenger was detained and the officer’s investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen out of the City of Azusa. 

After a search of the nearby business, officers located the driver and front passenger.  All three were arrested for Grand Theft Auto and booked at the Whittier Police Department Jail.  Their bail has been set at 35,000 dollars.

Arrested: Flores, Christian is an 18-year-old male resident of Fontana. 

Arrested: Durarte, Jorge is an 18-year-old male resident of Fontana. 

Arrested: Perez, Norma is an 18-year-old female resident of Fontana.
