Posted On: January 10, 2014
On Thursday, January 9th at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a commercial building in the 9880 block of Pioneer Boulevard in Santa Fe Springs regarding a suspicious person. Witnesses reported a lone male subject jump the fence around the building after exiting his vehicle. Officers set up containment around the building and located the suspect's vehicle. As the officers inspected the business they located large portions of graffiti on several walls. Eventually, one of the officers sees a subject on the roof of the commercial building identified in the call. Pasadena PD provided a helicopter to look at the top of the building and saw a subject hiding in a palm tree, which hangs over the roof and adjacent to the building. After several verbal commands to come down, the subject complied and was taken into custody. Several spray paint cans were located on the roof and matching paint residue on the suspect’s hands. The suspect, later identified as Ryan Dickerson (DOB 11/28/93), admitted to the vandalism while using his father’s car. He was arrested for felony vandalism and is being held on $20,000 bail in the Whittier Police Department Jail. Damage to the business is estimated in the thousands.
