EAST WHITTIER BRUSH FIRE ALERT

The City of Whittier is aware of a brush fire currently burning on Colima Road near the Murphy Ranch baseball fields.

Los Angeles County Fire Department is on scene actively responding. Colima Road is currently closed in both directions in the area.

Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Residents on Casino Drive (Unincorporated Whittier, Los Angeles County) are being contacted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department regarding evacuations as a precaution. Please follow all instructions from emergency personnel.

There are currently no City of Whittier evacuations.

The City will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
