The Art in Public Places Advisory Committee consists of five members (three artists/landscape architects/architects and two Community Representatives) appointed by the City Council to review applications from developers seeking to install art as part of their development. The Council reestablished the Committee on September 13, 2016, to continue the work set forth in the Art in Public Places Master Plan (Municipal Code Section 12.52.060). The Committee also commissions artworks to be placed throughout the City using funds from the Art in Public Places fund (one half of one percent of construction costs over $250,000 paid by developers).

Meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 4:30 PM at Whittier City Hall.
