COVID-19 Update: Tuesday, March 31, 2020

WHITTIER, Calif. – The Los Angeles Department of Public Health has issued Orders regarding home isolation and quarantine of COVID-19 patients, County trailheads and beaches are now closed, and Governor Newsom has halted statewide evictions through May 31, 2020. (Read latest information here)

Josué Alvarado was elected to the Whittier City Council District 1 in April 2016 to a four-year term during the historic municipal election becoming the first councilman to be elected by district voting.

Josué received his Associate Degree from Rio Hondo College and his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton. He currently works as a Marketing Manager for Time Warner Cable which has recently been acquired by Charter Communications. In addition, he is an active real estate agent here in Whittier.

Josué has participated in various community leadership roles prior to his term on the City Council, including serving as Carmela Elementary School Site Council President, Rio Hondo Student Body President, as a member of the South Whittier Parent Advisory Committee, and as a youth basketball coach and volunteer at Mayberry Park.
