The City is hosting informational and public comment meetings regarding the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Whittier Main Oil Field Project as follows:

June 30, 2011 - The City will host an informational meeting regarding the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Whittier Main Oil Field Project. The meeting will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011, in the City's Community Center Theater, located at 7630 Washington Avenue (SE corner of Washington Ave. and Mar Vista St.) starting at 6:00 p.m.

July 11, 2011 - The City will also host a public comment meeting regarding the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Whittier Main Oil Field Project. The meeting will be held Monday, July 11, 2011, in the "Walnut 2" room at Parnell Park, located at 15390 Lambert Road, starting at 6:00 p.m.

These meetings are not public hearings before the Planning Commission or the City Council. The first meeting is intended to provide an overview of the DEIR and help clarify any questions members of the public may have. The second meeting will provide an opportunity for the public to submit written or verbal comments on the DEIR.

The comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Report is from June 6, 2011 through July 21, 2011.
