A cornerstone of this model program is a partnership between the Police Department, city residents and businesses to produce a high quality of life for all citizens.

The Department is headed by Chief Jeff A. Piper. The management and supervisory team is comprised of two captains, six lieutenants and fourteen sergeants.

The Whittier Police Station has been in service since 1955, when the Department had 20 police officers. Since then, many expansions took place to accommodate the growth of the City and the Department.
