Login into your account on our Online Permit Portal.
Once signed in, hover over the Apply tab and select the permit that you want to apply for. In this example we will apply for a Building Permit.
Apply
Once you are on the Online Application page, read the disclaimer and accept the terms by checking the checkbox. Then, click Continue Application.
On the Select a Record Type Page, choose the Record that you would like to apply for. Then, click Continue Application. In this example, we will apply for a Residential Addition-Alteration.
Step 1: People
For Step 1, you will be required to fill out the Applicant and you have the option to add a Licensed Professional (Contractor) to your project.
Click Select from Account under to add your information.
Click Look Up under Licensed Professional to start a search for your contractor’s license information. In the Look Up License search, choose Contractor as the License Type and enter you State License Number. If you input the license correctly, your information will be added to the page. You may verify your information on the California State License Board Website.
With your information added, click Continue Application.
Step 2: Location
Enter in the address (Street No. and Street Name) of the property for which you are applying for a permit and click Search.
Upon clicking Search, a pop-up may appear with multiple results. In that scenario, select the appropriate address. Otherwise, the Address and Parcel fields will automatically fill.
Fill in the Owner fields, then click Continue Application.
Step 3: Information
Fill out the Detailed Description and Application Name and then click Continue Application.
Step 4: Documents
In this section, you will be required to upload certain documents depending on the application. Click Add to upload a file.
Click Add again to select files from your computer.
After adding your files, click Continue.
After, set the Type for each file and add a Description. Click Save, then Continue Application.
Step 5: Review
Review each section of your permit application and click Edit to make any changes. Check mark the Certification box and click Continue Application.
Application Submitted
Your application has been submitted and your Record Number will be generated. A staff member will contact you via email for any updates.
